The Oasis Hotel Dashboard is a web-based system designed for hotel shift managers to
monitor operations, manage incidents, and coordinate between departments in real time.
The project explores how UX principles can simplify complex workflows, presenting a large
amount of operational data in a clear and intuitive way.
The focus was on creating an efficient yet calm interface, one that supports decision-making
under pressure, reduces cognitive load, and helps managers stay in control and
delegate effectively throughout their shifts.
Users & Context
This dashboard was designed for a hotel shift manager working in a boutique hotel with 40 rooms
and seven working departments (including a restaurant, spa, and bar) and a staff of over 80 people.
Their job is to keep daily operations running smoothly, coordinating between departments while
ensuring a seamless guest experience.
The dashboard supports their functional needs: monitoring occupancy, tracking incidents,
assigning tasks, and maintaining communication across teams; while also addressing
emotional needs such as control, confidence, and peace of mind during high-pressure shifts.
Design Approach
The design process focused on clarity, hierarchy, and emotional balance.
Live data - occupancy, maintenance incidents and room status - is organized in one glanceable overview.
Color and layout support prioritization, while typography and spacing maintain calmness and focus.
Every component was designed to reduce cognitive load, allowing the manager to act quickly and confidently.
Incident Log
The core of the dashboard-  a real-time feed of operational issues across departments.
Incidents are color-coded by priority and organized by read status and response time, helping the shift manager identify what requires immediate attention.

The structure follows natural decision-making: assess → assign → resolve.
Cross-department incidents are clearly marked, allowing seamless collaboration between teams.
Guest Alerts
A dedicated section for special guest notes and accessibility preferences.
The goal was to keep sensitive information visible without overwhelming the screen, balancing discretion and usability. Clear icons and collapsible cards allow quick scanning while maintaining a calm visual rhythm.
Room Status
A quick visual snapshot of the hotel’s current occupancy and room conditions.
The component was designed for instant comprehension - combining numerical data with soft color coding to show availability, cleaning status, and out-of-service rooms at a glance.
Progress bars and proportional blocks give managers a sense of scale without overwhelming them with numbers.
Headcount
A quick snapshot of staff availability per department.
The component was designed to feel immediate and intuitive, using minimal color and simple avatars to communicate staffing gaps at a glance.
Schedule
A clear overview of daily events, tasks, and reservations across departments.
Color-coded blocks distinguish between operational and guest activities, allowing the shift manager to anticipate overlaps and coordinate teams efficiently.
The layout mimics a familiar calendar view, designed to reduce cognitive load while supporting quick, confident decision-making.
Designing this dashboard taught me how to bring structure and clarity to a complex, fast-paced operational environment - creating an interface that feels steady and calm, even when everything behind the scenes is constantly in motion.
